Once upon a time, in a galaxy far, far away, Katie and Zach fell in love... Zach and Katie's first meeting was the very first day of high school where they sat right next to each other in band class. Maybe a dozen or so words were said between the two of them that year. They came back together their senior year where Katie asked Zach for help on some Calculus homework during study hall. After he finished helping her, Katie started showing Zach pictures of her grandparents' farm cats and the rest was history. They officially started dating on May 7th, 2019 and went to the Senior Prom together a short four days later. They would then graduate from high school and spend that summer seeing each other often whilst going on dates until they were separated by one thing... College.
Katie attended Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN, while Zach attended the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities. While not very far away from each other, neither had reliable access to a car. The goal was to try and see each other at least once a month. This plan was also cut short during Covid and the lockdown when they couldn't easily see each other. As Covid began tapering off, they wasted no time in being able to see each other again. When the topic of marriage came up, they both agreed that it is where they saw their relationship going. They found some time for Katie to get her dream engagement ring designed and created and it was everything that she could've hoped for. The day finally came and Zach proposed to Katie on November 5th, 2022 at German Park in New Ulm, MN. Katie immediately said yes and they spent the day celebrating and letting family and friends know. We have been excitedly planning our wedding for the past year and greatly look forward to the plans that God has in store for us!
